Solo Exhibition by Starr Davis
Presented by Aegis Gallery of Fine Art at Aegis Gallery of Fine Art August 29-September 23, 2012 Starr Davis grew up in an artistic family near Chicago. She attended art classes at the Chicago Art Institute, taught high school art, and wrote two books--Tongues and Totems and Starr's Mussels. Solo Exhibition by Hae Yeon Jenny Kim
Presented by Aegis Gallery of Fine Art at Aegis Gallery of Fine Art September 27-October 21, 2012 Hae Yeon Jenny Kim explains her work in this way: "Life began from such unsuspecting circumstances. She was veiled beneath a thin, silky curtain. As time passed, and days went by, the fragile casing could no longer hide the art within. Like a graceful choreographed ballet, she danced; knocking on the door of her new life. With an effortless push, she burst through and was set free. The metamorphosis is complete. The once unnoticed caterpillar gets ready to spread her new wings for the...

Kay Duffy and Friends - Exhibition
Presented by Aegis Gallery of Fine Art at Aegis Gallery of Fine Art October 24-November 18, 2012 The freedom, spontaneity, and speed--the "wet and loose"--of watercolor suits Kay Duffy's temperament. Her approach is "juicy"--incorporating bright colors, broad strokes, and strong shapes to depict her feelings and impressions of the natural landscape, flowers and trees, buildings, foreign lands, and exotic places. Most enjoyable to her is the freedom of painting on location--"en plein air."
Her recent, more experimental work uses collage, which...

He'll sketch a scene, let the large washes flood their texture and color flowing along the canyon and crevices of the best paper possible for brilliant washes.
