    Romance of the Rail - Museum Exhibit San Mateo County History Museum Romance of the Rail - Museum Exhibit Presented by San Mateo County History Museum at San Mateo County History Museum May 8-September 9, 2012 The San Mateo County History Museum exhibit, "Romance of the Rail," will feature 10 original oil paintings by Burlingame artist Fred Sinclair, Jr. of trains that have historically traveled down the Peninsula. Sinclair has frequently had his artwork on display at the Museum. Currently his "Battle of Guadalcanal" can be seen in its Ships of the World exhibition.     Playing Grown-Up... Toys from the Harry P. Costa Collection - Exhibition San Mateo County History Museum Playing Grown-Up... Toys from the Harry P. Costa Collection - Exhibition Presented by San Mateo County History Museum at San Mateo County History Museum February 14-December 31, 2012 The San Mateo County History Museum presents this unique exhibit, while explores those toys from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s that allowed children to mimic the activities of adults. Objects highlighted will include an antique pedal car fire truck and airplane, Tonka work trucks, a fully electric 1929 Lionel Stove & Oven, a G-men Fingerprint Set, a “Miss Friday” mechanical doll and a working Lionel train, just to name a few.
