    Shakuntala Louis B. Mayer Theatre - Santa Clara University Shakuntala Presented by SCUPresents - Santa Clara University at Louis B. Mayer Theatre - Santa Clara University June 1-June 9, 2012 Shakuntala is about enchantment. It was written in the fifth century in the classical Indian storytelling tradition, with contemporary music by the award winning Rudresh Mahanthappa. The tale, drawn from an episode in the epic Mahabharata, concerns a king, Dushyanta who, while hunting in the forest, falls in love with Shakuntala. They secretly marry, and the king returns to court, but when a curse falls upon the lovers, trouble befalls.
