Triton Museum of Art
Comment on Facebook Since 1965, the Triton Museum of Art has exhibited contemporary and historical works of art by artists of the Greater Bay Area, and provided innovative educational programming. Located across the street from the City of Santa Clara Civic Center, it is a destination spot for the community, providing a venue where local artists showcase their work, and where students of all ages learn about art and the creative process.
The Museum reaches over 114,940 people annually through its exhibitions, education and community programs, and satellite gallery and exhibition spaces. Triton's mission is to embrace and expand the lives of the people of Santa Clara County and the Greater Bay Area through a program of art, education and community involvement.
The Museum is open seven days a week and has free admission to exhibitions and many events. Classes are provided for children and adults of all abilities.

Watercolor Masters' with Jane Hoffstetter - 4th Wednesdays

Using her book, "7 Keys to Great Paintings" as a manual for the class, Jane R. Hoffstetter will teach six classes presenting techniques and posing solutions to problems encountered when using watercolor. Many examples of famous artists will be looked at in each class with Ms. Hoffstetter demonstrating techniques. Students will work at home and bring their work for critique. Advanced students.

Statewide Painting Competition - Exhibition

This statewide juried competition is open to all painting media. Approximately sixty to eighty paintings will be selected, along with prize winners. This year’s jurors will be members of the Curatorial Committee of the Triton Museum of Art including Chief Curator Preston Metcalf and curators Maria Ester Fernández and Stephanie Learmonth.

Eve Page Mathias - Exhibition

Fusing exquisite realism with vibrant color and a sense of the mysteries beyond the physical plane, Eve Page Mathias allows the viewer to experience her subjects at levels far more intimately than mere representation. Ms. Page Mathias is a professor of Art at San Jose City College where her skills in figurative painting have made her one of the most popular teachers in our region.

The competition is open to all types of photography, which will be judged in three categories: Fine Art Photography, Nature Photography, and Photo Journalistic Photography. The exhibition and prize winners will be juried by internationally renown photographer, Brian Taylor, and selected works will be on display in the Triton Museum.
