San Jose State University - Art Building

    Comment on Facebook

With nine galleries in the School of Art and Design, the exhibition program at San Jose State University is one of the most extensive among art and design programs in the United States. While the Natalie and James Thompson Art Gallery is the main gallery, there are an additional eight small student galleries.

Included in the matrix of small galleries is a special installation/performance space and small design gallery. There are additional exhibition spaces in cases throughout the Art Building. In most of the galleries, exhibits of student and class art work change weekly, resulting in over 160 exhibitions annually. A regular art lecture series is also held in the Art Building, usually in Room 133.
