    Almaden Lake Park is San Jose's only park that features a sand beach and swim area. Visitors may fish, boat, hike, windsurf, picnic and play volleyball or horseshoes. A snack bar offers beverages and light foods. Small shade canopies, inflatable kayaks, pedal boats and life jackets are available for rent. In addition, there are lawn and picnic areas, barbecues and a tot lot.

    Connected to Almaden Lake Park is the Los Alamitos Creek Trail which continues to Santa Teresa County Park. This 3.9-mile trail features a fitness course and takes hikers by scenic agricultural lands and riparian communities.

    Parking Information:

    Parking fees are collected April through September. Parking passes are available for purchase at parking booths.

    During the summer months the park can become very congested and parking is limited. Park access may be restricted during peak use periods and it is recommended that visitors car-pool and come to the park early, as the park and parking may fill quickly.Almaden Lake Park is easy to reach by Santa Clara County Transportation Agency light rail or bus.

    Technical Specifications:

    Picnic tables with barbecue pits are located throughout the park, with most sites available on a first come, first serve basis. (One adult may save one table.) Three sites are available for reservation for a nominal fee. The larger sites are South Point and Quicksilver picnic areas, both of which accomodate groups up to 100. The smaller is Taymen, which can accommodate 45 people.
