He has written to Rick to say that, as long as he is alive, "you will have somebody on Earth who will do anything for you"—so Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment. But, the Christmas mouse, who lives with the Robinsons, needs food for his family and finds her creation. 	My Three Angels Presented by Santa Clara Players at Triton Museum Hall Pavilion October 28-November 19, 2011 The scene is in French Guiana, the location of a French penal colony, where on Christmas day the temperature has graciously dropped to 104 degrees. Three convicts are employed as roofers by a shopkeepers family. On the way from France is a less than honest cousin and his nephew. In the ensuing Christmas events, the three convicts prove that there are many facets to justice. 	Squabbles Presented by Santa Clara Players at Triton Museum Hall Pavilion April 29-May 21, 2011 This hilarious play pits a father in law against a mother in a comedic succession of squabbles. Jerry Sloan is a successful writer of advertising jingles married to an equally successful lawyer. Living with the happy couple is the not so happy Abe Dreyfus, Jerry's curmudgeon of a father in law. Abe is a funny guy to the audience, not to Jerry. The situation is exacerbated when Jerry's mother Mildred loses her house in a fire and needs a place to stay. Abe and Mildred can't stand each other. A taxi driver gets away with having two wives in different areas of the city because of his irregular working schedule. Complication is piled upon complication as the cabby tries to keep his double life from exploding. Not only do you feel like you’re actually inside the play, but the closer you are to the actors, the easier it is to see little facial nuances among the cast members. In a play like Squabbles, those little changes in facial expression really help sell the extremely uncomplicated script.... Collapse

  Santa Clara Players had a much lighter take on the script than I had seen before.I found it a refreshing and realistic take. A husband and wife team suddenly find themselves expecting their first child and housing a father with a heart condition and a mother who's house burned down. This of course has comic potential but, when we discover the mother and father can't stand each other, we are treated with some delightful tension. The plot is farcical and a bit predicatable but, that works to its advantage, allowing the audience to "brace themselves" for the comedy they can see coming. All the actors are well cast and although I would have liked to see the pacing pick up, I have no doubt that will improve significantly over the next week. This play has heart as well, and I think what I enjoyed the most was the message that an arguement can be... healthy. Overall, pacing issues aside, this was a pleasant, fun, simple two hours of chuckles Collapse
