Soaring Spirits - Choral Concert

The Choral Project presents a program of unaccompanied choral music by three of this century’s most influential composers: Arvo Pärt, John Tavener, and Eric Whitacre. The program will include favorites such as Whitacre’s Water Night and When David Heard that Absolom was Slain, Pärt’s Magnificat, and Tavener’s Butterfly Dreams, a multi-movement work set to seven poems about butterflies.

The Choral Project concludes its crystal anniversary with a program of favorites from its past fifteen years of singing. Highlights include pieces by Francis Poulenc, Lili Boulanger, Irving Fine, Eric Whitacre, Stephen Schwartz, and Maurice Duruflé, as well as folk music from around the globe, spirituals and rousing gospel music. Celebrate fifteen years of healing through music and words.

Hear The Choral Project (TCP) and some of California's finest high school choirs as TCP expands its educational outreach program. Two choirs each night will be showcased, culminating in an exciting set of music by The Choral Project, and concluding with a joint performance by the participating ensembles.
