Tuba Master Class with Marty Erickson

Presented by San Jose Wind Symphony at Campbell United Methodist Church

Marty Erickson, former principal tubist with the United States Navy Band in Washington, DC, will conduct a master class in tuba performance. Participants will be invited to join Mr. Erickson on stage to play one piece in the San Jose Wind Symphony concert on February 12. Mr. Erickson served 26 years in the U.S. Navy Band, and has also been principal Eb tubist with the Brass Band of Battle Creek for 15 years and is a founding member of Millennium Brass Quintet, The Symphonia tuba-euphonium

Tiptoe Through the Tubas - Concert

The San Jose Wind Symphony, with tuba virtuoso Marty Erickson, will present "Tiptoe Through the Tubas", music celebrating the most sublime--and subsonic--of the brass instruments, including Wilhelm's Concertino for Tuba, Rossini's Largo al Factotum and the Canadian Brass's Tuba Tiger Rag.

The baseball season may be over, but we just can’t wait until next year. Join San Jose Wind Symphony as they celebrate America’s favorite pastime. From the national anthem to the seventh-inning stretch, they’ll take you out to the ball game and have you singing, “Bye Bye Baby!” The featured work is Randol Allen Bass’s Casey at the Bat, with a very special guest narrator. San Jose Wind Symphony's 54th season kicks off with a bang as the British Invasion meets the Great White Way. There’ll be plenty of Lenny – from Candide to West Side Story – and a stop in Oklahoma, too, by way of Richard Rodgers. And there will be a salute to the Fab Four, with Ira Hearshen’s setting of the Beatles’ landmark final album, Abbey Road – A Symphonic Portrait.

Let Freedom Ring - Concert

Help celebrate our nation’s birthday with a good old-fashioned concert in the park. It will include marches, popular tunes and patriotic songs, capped off by a rousing 1812 Overture, complete with cannons!

This free concert takes place on Los Gatos High School's front lawn, so arrive early with blankets, chairs and plenty of sunscreen! This event is sponsored in part by the Town of Los Gatos, Los Gatos High School and the Los Gatos Recreation Department.

Oh Mr Sousa! - A Musical Biography

In his lifetime, John Philip Sousa composed fifteen operettas, twenty-nine fantasies, five overtures, twenty-four dances, and 137 marches -- many of which are still popular today. This unique musical biography includes many of them, and, interspersed with the high-spirited music, eight actors play multiple roles to highlight major events in Sousa's life.

A sensation at its premiere in November 2004 at Arizona's Sundome, this South Bay Area premiere will combine Lyric Theatre

The special guest is acclaimed concert pianist Avguste Antonov, performing Camille Saint-Saëns's Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor. This concert is part of the Los Gatos Community Concert Series.
