	Doubt, A Parable Presented by Cañada College Theatre Arts Department at Cañada College Flex Theatre October 13-October 22, 2011 Doubt, a Parable is a powerful Pulizer Prize and Tony Award winning play about a strident, conservative nun (Sister Aloysius) who develops a powerful certainty that the new priest, Father Flynn, is molesting one of the boys in her Catholic school. Lacking any concrete evidence, but armed with her unshakable conviction, she struggles to win what she sees as a morally unambiguous struggle. But is she fighting the good fight, or is she aiming her suspicion at an innocent man? 	Step It Up and Dance - Cañada College Dance Performance Presented by Cañada College Theatre Arts Department at Cañada College Main Theatre December 10, 2010 The annual Cañada College fall semester student dance performance is free and open to the public, but donations are requested to help fund the dance program at the college. This year’s performance is titled Step It Up and Dance! 	Sylvia Presented by Cañada College Theatre Arts Department at Cañada College Flex Theatre November 4-November 14, 2010 A unique love triangle between a man, his wife, and a new-found dog lead to hilarity in A.R. Gurney's Sylvia which opens Thursday, Nov. 4 at Cañada College. The play revolves around Greg, a middle-aged, upper-middle-class New Yorker, who finds Sylvia, a dog played by a human. He brings her back to the empty nest he shares with his wife, Kate. When Kate gets home, she reacts very negatively to Sylvia and wants her gone. 	19th Annual Artistry in Fashion - Designer Sale and Fashion Show Presented by Cañada College Theatre Arts Department at Cañada College Main Theatre September 25, 2010 Canada College once again presents its Fashion Design Department's annual Artistry In Fashion - A fun event where you meet professional designers and shop through an array of unique fashion pieces. Now in its 19th year, this is a benefit for student scholarships. There will be over 60 professional designers selling clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Featured pattern designer Sandra Betzina will be shown in the theater at 11am and sell her patterns at the sale. 	Black History Month Celebration - Othello - A Live Performance Presented by Cañada College Theatre Arts Department at Cañada College Flex Theatre February 18, 2010 Cañada College will host a series of events in February to celebrate Black History Month that include a live performance of a scene from Othello that will be shown at the Flex Theater. Othello, the Moor of Venice is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written in approximately 1603, and based on the Italian short story Un Capitano Moro (A Moorish Captain) by Cinthio, a disciple of Boccaccio, first published in 1565.   I was drawn to the show by an article about Boo the cat. Loved the way he was worked into the play & he is gorgeous. I had a wonderful time; everything better than I ever expected. Great acting, humor; the whole production was fantastic. I like the coziness of the theater too. Good price. I plan on attending more in the future. Collapse

  This play is painfully bad to sit through. It is serious, sad, and insensitive to people with relational and emotional problems as well as how people relate to animals. The humor is juvenile slapstick... Expand

  This play is painfully bad to sit through. It is serious, sad, and insensitive to people with relational and emotional problems as well as how people relate to animals. The humor is juvenile slapstick with poor taste. (Unless you enjoy beginning drama students running up to the front row while barking like dogs and chasing each other or running and barking like dogs during intermission ...) If you see picketing by P.E.T.A., don't worry, it stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of an Audience. The play can't decide if it is about real people or a cartoon like Snoopy and Peanuts and Lucy . Gurney, the author, couldn't even work out an ending to the play within the strange story so he brings the main characters out to talk to the audience as narrators. That's the best part of the production .. it ends. Too bad these beginning drama students didn't get a better script and dialogue to work from . Anthropomorphism and pseudo-intellectual Shakespeare quotes fall short here Collapse
