    The Douglas Morrisson Theatre is owned and operated by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District.     The Douglas Morrisson Theatre is owned and operated by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. It strives to provide the amateur performer with a creative and supportive professional staff and to foster a better appreciation for live theatre. Its 250-seat theatre has become a valuable resource for the entire Bay Area theatre community. The theatre's extensive costume, scenery and property inventory is available for rental.

    Each year, this organization produces a season of shows as well as three concerts by the Morrisson Theatre Chorus. In the summer, children ages 7-14 get to participate in Theatre Camps. Adults and teens enjoy classes in voice, acting, scene study and other theatre disciplines.

    The Douglas Morrisson Theatre is located on the grounds of the Hayward Japanese Gardens. The mailing address is listed below, while its street address is 22311 N. 3rd Street in Hayward.
