The City of Palo Alto Library system has five branches. These are the Main, Downtown, Mitchell Park, College Terrace and Children's branches. The Library's mission is to enable people to explore library resources in order to enrich their lives with knowledge, information and enjoyment.

	Book Sale - Friends of the Palo Alto Library Presented by Friends of the Palo Alto Library and City of Palo Alto - Library at Cubberley Community Center September 10-September 11, 2011 The Friends of the Palo Alto Library holds a book sale on the second two-day weekend of each month at the Cubberley Community Center. There are great bargains to be had, and proceeds benefit the City of Palo Alto Library. 50,000 wonderful used books, records, videos, magazines, and more are for sale each month. Items include donations from individuals, estates and companies, as well as ones from the Library itself.
