Buried Child

Winner of the 1979 Pulitzer Prize, Buried Child is set in a squalid farm home, occupied by a family filled with suppressed violence and an unease born of deep-seated unhappiness, all the while harboring a dark secret. Buried Child has been called one of Sam Shepard's best plays.

Buffalo'ed

The World Premiere of Buffalo'ed retells the story of the Buffalo Soldiers, descendants of American slaves, who were stationed in the Philippines at the turn of the 20th Century, during both the Spanish-American and Philippine-American Wars. The military presence of the United States Army's Buffalo Soldiers' during the Philippine occupation is a little-known thread in the fabric of American history. It is an American story told through dialogue and movement.

Daniel Handler is the author of the novels The Basic Eight, Watch Your Mouth, Adverbs, and the forthcoming novel for teens, Why We Broke Up. He also wrote "far too many books" as Lemony Snicket, including 13 Words, a collaboration with Maira Kalman, and the screenplays for the films A Series of Unfortunate Events, Kill the Poor, and Rick. Handler lives in San Francisco with his wife and child.

Back from their December appearance at the San Jose Stage Company, the cast of The Big Fat Year End Comedy Show bring this night of comedy and politics to San Jose with a collection of stand-up comedy, skits, quizzes and many other surprises.
