  One of the great advantages that radio holds over tv and cinema is the power and creativity of the human mind and its imagination. So the radio style staging offers a new dimension, new viewpoints and multi-layered characters that are not like a predictable movie re-run . Even without the charismatic James Stewart mid-western drawl of Americana, this presentation creates a new show that we have not seen - though it's the same story . This time you are a "live-to-air" radio studio audience watching some very talented veteran actors play the story for you. Add to the mix a brilliant piano background of period music, a dash of old broadcast commercials and your time-travel experience is delivered . If you've seen the old movie 10 times this production still feels new - your own images are the power of radio that take you beyond the stage into the golden age of Hollywood in the rural American past. We turn off our cell phones and rewind the clock into a vista of our past. Collapse

  Burt Lancaster comes alive in the person of Steve Oliver! My wife and I saw his show last evening and it was captivating. Being a big Burt fan, my favorite actor, I had high expectations. Steve/Burt did not disappoint! His powerful voice, inflections, the tilt of his head, and the raw energy that was Burt is so well reflected in Steve's portrayal that, closing your eyes and listening, you'd believe he was in the room. It's a shame that there's only 2 performances left today @ 3 and 8. Give yourself a treat, Lancaster fan or not, and look for Steve's other performances around the Bay Area. Got to go rent a few Burt movies since I'm fired up enough to write my first review of a theatrical performance. I want more! Thank you, Steve! Rich Collapse
