Antique Toys 1870-1930 - Exhibition

All Aboard! for the largest exhibition of antique toy trains and other metal toys the Museum of American Heritage has ever mounted. Antique Toys, 1870-1930 showcases exquisite and rare toys from local collectors. In addition to early American toys, the exhibit also features turn-of-the-century toy trains and their accessories from fine European toymakers such as Marklin and Bing. Visitors young and old will delight in discovering playthings from an earlier age.

Build a Crystal Radio - Workshop

Science Night

Science Night will feature awesome hands-on activities with static electricity, electromagnetic games and toys, theremin, and tesla coil.  The event includes beverages and pizza.  It is a great night out for the whole family!

LEGO Holiday Display

Introductory LEGO Robotics - Workshop

Learn basic principles of robotics using LEGO kits and software. Students construct a simple robot and learn to control its actions by creating programs using a PC. This course is designed for students with little or no experience with robots, but knowledge of basic PC operations is required. Ages 11 and up.

Electrostatics and Electromagnetism - Workshop

Learn the basics of the early electrical sciences (starting from early experiments with static electricity up through the basics of electromagnetism) through stories, hands-on demonstrations, and the construction of take-home projects. Ages 10 and up.

Beginning Electronics Class

This is a hands-on class where students learn what electricity is, how to control it to do useful things, and how to read a schematic diagram. Then, each student incorporates these ideas to assemble, wire, and solder an electric circuit.

Students take home a project to learn how to send and receive Morse Code. This course content satisfies the California State Science Standards for Grades 4(1) and Grades 9 -12(5.a, 5.h, 5.i).

Ages 10 and up.
