The Gay Marriage Plays performs one night only across America and beyond to raise awareness and funds in support of marriage equality. Marriage equality is an issue that transcends borders, and it’s vital that the message of Standing On Ceremony reaches far and wide. 	Poe's Masquerade Presented by Arclight Repertory Theatre at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library October 30, 2011 Arclight Rep Theatre of San Jose presents an original staged reading of Poe's Masquerade by Clayton Tejada. This play is a creative adaptation of a number of classic stories by America's master of suspense and horror including The Masque of the Red Death, The Cask of Amontillado and The Fall of the House of Usher. Following the staged reading, audience members are invited to attend a discussion with the director and actors.   This is an overall strong production, but I must especially commend Jeremy Forbing as Benedick, Michael McCullough as Claudio, and John Romano as Don Pedro. They handled their roles... Expand

  This is an overall strong production, but I must especially commend Jeremy Forbing as Benedick, Michael McCullough as Claudio, and John Romano as Don Pedro. They handled their roles expertly. Forbing's Benedick was--most importantly--funny, but without being a caricature, and he was able to sensitively handle the emotionally vulnerable, non-comedic scenes with Beatrice realistically without straying unbelievably far from his humorous persona. McCullough is a natural Shakespearean actor! Of everyone on stage, I believed his Claudio the most--from his tender looks at Hero to his comedic ruse for Benedick to his painful betrayal of his bride, everything about his portrayal was organic and real. I'm looking forward to seeing this young actor in many more local productions, but I wouldn't be surprised if we all know his name someday. Other acting standouts included Romano, April Fritz as Balthasar, and our two heroines, Alexandra Bogorad (Hero) and Tamara Miller (Beatrice). Collapse

  The Arclight Shakespeare On The Square is not to be missed. Well worth the drive from SF. Innovative and thoughtful setting, staging and casting. I have never been disappointed, and this production is no exception. Tamar Miller (Beatrice) and Jeremy Forbing (Benedick) have intelligence and chemistry aplenty. April Fritz has the face and voice of an angel. Jim Johnson is hilarious as the town's befuddled constable. Costumes are wonderful, the music is delightful. Play On! Collapse
