Anna Sew Hoy features found objects from cast-off materials and detritus from our local courporate culture in the newest installment of San Jose Museum of Art's Beta Space. Experience the experimental space as Hoy's sculptures encourages viewers to note the rapid turnover and consequent discarding of gadgets in today's fast-paced electronics market. This exhibition is sponsored by the James Irvine Foundation and Theres and Dennis Rohan.

The San Jose Museum of Art will explore the work of the pivotal Bay Area artist Joan Brown (1938-1990). The exhibition, the first major survey of Brown’s art in a decade, is the first to examine and stake a claim for her work in the context of the women’s movement. Subscribers to this unique “publication” have received everything from a silkscreened vinyl window shade by Miranda July (issue 1) to a lipsticked-mirror and poster by James Franco (issue 14).

Last-Minute-Shopping Night

San Jose Museum of Arts' Museum Store will host a last-minute-shopping night. The Museum Store will be open late and will offer seasonal music by the Vivace Youth Chorus and hot cocoa. It is not necessary to pay admission to enter the Store. The galleries will be open for a reduced admission of $5 after 5pm on December 15th.
