8 Ghante - Satire in Hindi

This innovative satire is produced in Hini with English supertitles. Inspired by Murray Schisgal's The Typists, 8 Ghante was written by Naatak co-founder Sujit Saraf and was first performed in 1997 by Naatak. Since then, this witty, fast-paced satire has been successfully staged all over the U.S., at the National School of Drama in Delhi, and in almost every major city in northern India.

Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai ("One who has not seen Lahore has not been born") was written in the 1980's. Set in 1947, it is the story of a Muslim family that migrates from Lucknow to Lahore and is allotted a haveli vacated by a departing Hindu family. Drama ensues when they find an old Hindu woman living in the haveli.

Tughlaq - A Play In Hindi

Muhammad Bin Tughlaq (1325-1351) is widely regarded as the most eccentric sultan to ever rule Delhi. He has been variously depicted as a genius and a fool, a compassionate ruler and a cruel monarch held captive by his whims. This play selects the most interesting incidents from the sultan’s life to illustrate the enigma that Tughlaq remains for historians to this day.

This play, written by Girish Karnad, will be performed in Hindi, with supertitles in English.
