Jar the Floor

Presented by San Jose Multicultural Artists Guild and Tabia African-American Theatre Ensemble at Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater

Jar the Floor is a heartwarming dramatic comedy about four female generations of an African-American family. It's a vivid portrait of the evolving interaction between mothers and daughters. The four, plus the friend of the youngest, come together to celebrate the matriarch's 90th birthday.

It's a lovable, lunatic glance at the exhilarating challenge of growing old admits the exasperating trials of growing up. It's humorous, thought-provoking, and compelling.

Celebrate Life while remembering the Dead!

Meet at City View Park (on Market Street across the street from Casar Chavez Park) with individual altars, and, in costume! The Procession will begin, including Aztec dancers, mariachis, Middle Eastern dancers, folklórico, stilt walkers, larger-than-life skeletons, real live "calacas"(skeletons), music, and much more!
