2012 Shakespeare Camp For Kids

Produced by Shady Shakespeare's Bard Academy of the Bay Area, our Summer Shakespeare Camp includes instruction in unarmed stage combat, stage makeup, improvisation, acting, and in-depth study in scene work from Shakespeare's plays. No previous experience is required. Students will also receive training in various areas behind-the-scenes, getting involved in the design and creation of costumes, props, set pieces, and more! Shuffle Up and Deal! Join us for our 8th Annual Benefit Poker Tournament January 21st in San Jose. This is our most popular event of the year. The game is Texas Hold 'em and the tournament runs from 7pm - Midnight (or until someone takes it all!) Registration fee includes $5,000 worth of chips and all you can eat and drink. Heritage Holiday Champagne Tea and Tour

Backstage Tours - Shady Shakespeare

Get a first hand look at how the magic is created via Shady Shakespeare Theatre Company. You'll go backstage and discuss how the stage is built and how the lighting and sound systems are put together. Then, you will get to walk around onstage and see what it feels like to traverse the boards. Participants will also explore the makeup and costume areas and take a look in the control booth.

Tours are offered on four consecutive Saturdays. Groups meet at the front of the stage in Sanborn
