Established in 2000, The Main Gallery has quickly become one of the Bay Area's bright spots for fresh, innovative, and exciting local art. Located in a charming historic Victorian cottage, it is an artists’ cooperative with some twenty-two members, showcasing the work of local talent. The Main Gallery hosts both 2D and 3D work in media such as photography, mixed media, collage, painting, printmaking, pastels and ceramics. New and varied shows are installed monthly, so there's always something different to discover.

	Sea Shells and Sonatas - Exhibition Presented by The Main Gallery at The Main Gallery October 19-November 20, 2011 The Main Gallery is proud to present the show Sea Shells and Sonatas with Susan Wolf, ceramics, and Arup Biswas, photography. Most of Wolf's ceramic pieces are porcelain with much underglazing, some with a clear overglaze, some just raw. A few are made of coarser sculpture clays, but all find their beauty inspired by nature. 	Aloha - Return to Paradise Presented by The Main Gallery at The Main Gallery July 6-August 7, 2011 The Main Gallery is proud to announce the exhibition Aloha - Return to Paradise. Foster City artists Nancy Terrebonne and Robert Terrebonne will exhibit artworks inspired by the tropical beauty of Hawaii, especially Maui, where they have been part-time residents and active in the art community for many years. A reception with the artists is scheduled for Saturday, July 9th, 6pm until 9pm. 	Mysterious Presented by The Main Gallery at The Main Gallery June 1-July 3, 2011 The Main Gallery is proud to announce the exhibition Mysterious, featuring six of the gallery’s artists: Arup Biswas, Katinka Hartmetz, Nina Koepcke, Erna Metzger, Elizabeth Noerdlinger, and David Scouffas. They will be showing artwork surrounding the theme of “mystery.” The reception, serving drinks and hors d'oeuvres, will coincide with Redwood City’s Art Walk—Saturday, June 11, from 6:30pm until 8:30pm. 	Offerings - Asian Influences on Two Western Artists Presented by The Main Gallery at The Main Gallery April 27-May 29, 2011 Two western artists, Irene Carvajal and David Scouffas, have put together Offerings, an exhibit at The Main Gallery exploring the influence of Asian culture in their artwork. While each of the artists has had different influences regarding Asia they both have come to deeply appreciate Asian art and culture and share a profound appreciation and respect for the traditions and aesthetics from this part of the world. 	Clayful Shapes and Bodies of Art Presented by The Main Gallery at The Main Gallery March 23-April 24, 2011 The Main Gallery is proud to exhibit the work by Michael Ruiz and Catherine Merrill. The exhibit, Clayful Shapes and Bodies of Art will feature “Sensuous Inspirations Expressing the Beauty and Power of the Human Design” in the form of drawings, watercolors and figurative sculptures, vases and wall pieces created by working from the live model.
