The Friends of the Dr. Martin Luther King Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. Its mission is to support the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library and advocate for library services within the community. This organization raises funds for the King Library through monthly book sales, the operation of a used bookstore, sales of memberships and online book sales. These sales take place on the patio outside the Friends Bookstore (main level of the King Library on the SJSU side). Parking in the Fourth Street Garage is free. On Sundays, books are $5/bag. There are approximately 15,000 items at each sale, including books, DVD's, CD's, Audio Books, Foreign Language Books, Children's Books and much more.
