    Happy Hollow celebrates its Grand Re-Opening after two years of renovations! The park closed its gates after 46 years on July 9, 2008, for a $72 million dollar green renovation.     Happy Hollow celebrates its Grand Re-Opening after two years of renovations! The park closed its gates after 46 years on July 9, 2008, for a $72 million dollar green renovation. The renovation included all twelve acres of existing ride areas and zoo, as well as adding four additional acres to the facility which includes several new animal exhibits, veterinary and commissary buildings, education center, guest services, gift shop, restaurant, new parking and pedestrian bridge.

    With its unique combination of children’s rides, amusements, puppet theater, play areas and an accredited zoo with animals ranging from endangered lemurs to miniature horses, Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose has been a part of Bay Area families since 1961, and now, it is ready for a new chapter of adventures!
