  This has been the second professional play i have seen since over 17 years when i first experienced my first play. Then, i was not able to appreciate the play and understand the purpose, and now as an adult, watching this play was a whole different experience. I noticed many things and appreciated the story line, the actors work, the set design and even the play handbook. I even enjoyed reading the background information on the actors. I really liked the set design and setting. The colors they chose went well with the year the story took place. I enjoyed how Sir changed his appearance from one outfit to the other wearing makeup and a wig. One of my favorite characters was Norman. He had a sense of humor, he was helpful, honest, loyal and sweet. I loved his relationship and respect for Sir. I felt touched to see how they had a good relationship and i felt sad when Sir passed away silently. I enjoyed the play and appreciated it. I would definitely go watch more plays from now on!!!!! :-) Collapse

  This was the first time I've been to a play at San Jose Repertory Theatre. This also was the first professional play I've ever been to, so I expected a high level of acting skills. I was not disappointed by the acting. They'd played the parts really well, I don't think anyone play their characters that good, especially Sir and Norman character. What I like most about this play is the interesting stage design when they transfer from Sir's dressing room to the backstage of a theater. It was the most beautifully and intelligently way to solve the problem of spaces and settings. As a student in a beginning acting class, I went to see this play with little experience in theater art, so I may not fully appreciate this play. I did not find the story line entertaining enough to hold my interests. Even though the story line may have under meanings behind it, it is rather dull and lack of a dramatic entertain turning point.
