    Family Day at the Cantor Arts Center

    This free event features hands-on art projects, storytelling, performers, and music in conjunction with the Center's landmark exhibition Tracing the Past, Drawing the Future: Master Ink Painters in 20th - Century China. The event is sponsored by a generous grant from the Koret Foundation. Family Day is geared toward children ages 5-12, but all are welcome.     This free event features hands-on art projects, storytelling, performers, and music in conjunction with the Center's landmark exhibition Tracing the Past, Drawing the Future: Master Ink Painters in 20th - Century China. The event is sponsored by a generous grant from the Koret Foundation.

    Family Day is geared toward children ages 5-12, but all are welcome. Children of all ages can choose from hands-on activities, such as ink drawings, dragon puppets, paper lanterns, opera masks, and paper blossom trees. Chinese lion dancers will perform, and storyteller Margaret More will entertain in the galleries. Family-friendly food will be available for purchase (cash only), or families can bring a picnic to enjoy in the Rodin Sculpture Garden or on the lawn. Family Day is held rain or shine.

    Parking:

    Parking along Museum Way is by permit only until 4:00 pm on weekdays, parking is free after 4:00 pm and on weekends. Metered parking is available along Lomita Drive in front of the Center, and a parking structure with both metered and permit parking is located on Roth Way near the Center. This parking is free after 4:00 pm weekdays and all day on weekends.
