The Escape (Flugten) - Escaping from the terrorists who kidnapped her was only the beginning. Danish journalist Rikke Lyngvig’s job makes her the perfect target for the Afghan terror group who takes her hostage and threatens to kill her if Denmark does not withdraw their troops from the country. However, with help from Nazir, a young terrorist who really isn’t cut out for the job, Rikke successfully flees her captivity. Her return home quickly launches Rikke’s career into the spotlight, but when Nazir turns up at her home after escaping himself, Rikke must make a choice: will she help the man who saved her life and jeopardize her newfound celebrity? With her thought-provoking debut feature, director Kathrine Windfeld has crafted an unforgettable thriller closely tied to current world events and media sensationalism. With a superb cast, led by the stunning Iben Hjejle, The Escape will certainly strike a chord with many and leave viewers talking about it long after.

Shorts Program 5: More than you bargained for. - As we go through life, we are often faced with unexpected surprises as we reach the end of our journey. This series of shorts shows a woman preparing for her cancer treatment who must also give solace to others, a young girl given a priceless gift after the death of her father, and a director who tries to explain the inexplicable pain of living with dementia. Nature has a deadly surprise for the hunter of a rare bird, an old hotel about to be demolished tells many tales on its last New Year, and a disturbed man tries to warn his family of an imminent robot attack on Earth. There can be humor in telling secrets before a family's last supper together, but there can also be great beauty in quiet cravings discovered and graphically fulfilled. The Shorts Program 5 consists of the following films: Alena's Journey - dir. Karoly Ujj Meszaros (Hungary), The Attack of the Robots from Nebula-5 - dir. Chema García Ibarra (Spain), Commentary - dir. Robert Cambrinus (United Kingdom), The Feast of Stephen - dir. James Franco (United States), Sapsucker - dir. Christopher Holmes (United States), Socarrat - dir. David Moreno (Spain), Variations - dir. Krisztina Esztergalyos (Hungary), and Winter Fugue - dir. Jadrien Steele (United States).

Shorts Program 6: Through the Eyes of a Child - What wonders lie in the mind of a child? Making ample use of the fertile imaginations of kids and the camera's potential for impressionist storytelling, these eight shorts range from the hilarious to the heartbreaking while always retaining their magic. A bike ride through town becomes an enchanted voyage, while a boy's bedroom becomes a land of a thousand mysteries. Children convince themselves they are mischievous cats, use magic books to deal with the grown-up world around them, and have epiphanies at the breakfast table or on the edge of a diving board. Comprised of fables, poetic riddles and comic skits, this series looks back at our early years and ahead to the future of film. The Shorts Program 6 contains the following films: A Bike Ride - dir. Bernard Attal (United States), The Day I Grew Up - dir. Martti Helde (Estonia), The Devil's in the Details - dir. Jean-Pierre Joubert (Canada), Good Advice - dir. Andreas Tibblin (Sweden), I Do Air - dir. Martina Amati (United Kingdom), The Kitty - dir. Didem Erayda (Turkey), My Father's Son - dir. JorDan Fuller (United States), and Photographia - dir. Stefanos Sitaras (United States).
