Currently Concertmaster of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Kay Stern received her bachelor's, master's and doctorate from the Juilliard School of Music. A featured artist on television and radio, Ms. Stern has appeared on PBS's Live from Lincoln Center, CNN's Women Today, A Prairie Home Companion, St. Paul Sunday Morning, and Robert Sherman's Listening Room.

As former First Violinist and founding member of Lark String Quartet, Kay Stern has toured and coached extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. She continues to be an avid chamber musician and maintains a busy schedule of recitals, performances, teaching, and recording. Her chamber music recordings can be heard on Phillips, Nonesuch, MusicMasters, Innova, Koch International, and Grammavision.
