    Kevin Bean's Backyard Paintings and Geometric Abstractions

    This exhibition will present over twenty drawings and paintings by artist Kevin Bean, who has taught drawing and painting at Stanford University since 1999. One group of large paintings on display was inspired by black and white family photos that he recreated from memory and imagination. The paintings show his concern for the relationships among the people as much as his interest in color and paint itself. A second group of works on display...

    This exhibition will present over twenty drawings and paintings by artist Kevin Bean, who has taught drawing and painting at Stanford University since 1999. One group of large paintings on display was inspired by black and white family photos that he recreated from memory and imagination. The paintings show his concern for the relationships among the people as much as his interest in color and paint itself.

    A second group of works on display present small geometric drawings and show Bean’s interest in geometry and color. His work has been widely exhibited in both solo and group shows and he is the recipient of numerous awards.

    An Opening Reception and Artist Talk is being held Friday, October 9, from 6-8 pm.
