Michael Chabon, the Pulitzer-Prize winning author of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay will appear in conversation with San Francisco Chronicle book editor John McMurtrie at the Belmont Library on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00 pm. A wine and cheese reception will precede the event at 6:30 pm. Both the reception and program are free and open to all. Chabon will also read from his most recent book, Manhood for Amateurs: The Pleasures and Regrets of a Husband, Father, and Son. This is his first sustained work of personal writing. In insightful, provocative, slyly interlinked essays, one of our most brilliant and humane writers presents his autobiography and his vision of life in the way so many of us experience our own lives: as a series of reflections, regrets, and reexaminations, each sparked by an encounter, in the present, that holds some legacy of the past.

This event is being co-sponsored by M is for Mystery Bookstore and the Friends of the Belmont Library. Copies of the book may be purchased for signing or with a receipt from M is for Mystery.
