Evita chronicles the brief, but dynamic, life of a girl who rose from poverty to become one of the most powerful women (played by Madonna) in the world, hypnotizing a nation of 18 million people before her untimely death at the age of thirty-three in 1952. Antonio Banderas also stars as the film’s narrator. Award-winning music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Rated PG. 133 min. Directed by Alan Parker.
