Uri Caine, Stanford Lively Arts Informance
Presented by Community School of Music and Arts at Community School of Music and Arts
October 8, 2009
Pianist and composer Uri Caine, often called a "musical alchemist," is known for his innovative improvisations that redefine musical genres. His works merge and mix Mahler and Bach with original music, swinging bebop and hard-hitting drum-and-bass. Caine has recorded nineteen CD's, most recently, The Othello Syndrome, a 2009 Grammy Nominee for Best Classical Crossover Album.
