    A pact with the devil brings magic bullets and arrows that always find their target. No one is safe from them, not even the evil one from whom they came. The free-shooter is a damned soul, avoided by his fellows, unhappy, and always violent. The misguided hero wishes to earn the hand of beloved Agathe, a virtuous and pious woman, by becoming the most skilled huntsman in the area. Hunters, villagers, and bridesmaids make up the choruses that bring to life the surrounding countryside. As the opera unfolds, it brings to life, through nature, all the evil forces of the universe and the psychology of man. Written by Carl Maria von Weber and Directed by Yuval Sharon, in German with English titles.
