Marking the centenary of Twain’s death almost to the day, Holbrook’s performance at Stanford comes at the culmination of courses in Stanford’s Departments of English, American Studies, and Continuing Studies, spearheaded by Professor Shelley Fisher Fishkin, preeminent Twain scholar and the Director of American Studies at Stanford.
