    Recognized as one of the world’s premiere string quartets, the Takacs Quartet is renowned for its ability to create gripping, unified interpretations from four distinct expressive musical personalities. On tour and at their residency bases, University of Colorado-Boulder, Aspen Festival, and Guildhall School-London, Takacs performs more than 90 concerts a year worldwide. Takacs premiered James Macmillan’s melodic 2008 Quartet #3 for the South Bank Center in London, where they are Associate Artists. Takacs members Schranz and Fejer date to its founding in 1975 at Liszt Academy, Budapest. The quartet has multi-award winning recordings on Hyperion Records and previously Decca.
