Patrick Ball - Confessions of a Blarney Pilgrim:  Sunnyvale’s favorite modern-day bard, Patrick Ball, returns to Sunnyvale Theatre with a brand new show inspired by his own pilgrimage to Ireland. Irish legend has it that those who make a pilgrimage to kiss the Blarney Stone will be forever blessed with the gift of eloquence. Ball himself found his calling as a storyteller and harper, when he decided as a graduate student to visit his ancestral homeland. Blarney Pilgrim is the title of a traditional Irish double jig, which has become a mainstay of modern Celtic music; the tune was featured in the blockbuster film Titanic, during the scene of an Irish party in the ship’s steerage section. The evening here also promises to be a festive one for fans. Not only does the occasion mark Ball’s 19th consecutive season performing as part of the Evenings of Cultural Arts series; it’s also the artist’s birthday!
