Tea Dance featuring Joanie Brant and the Nob Hill Knights

Get out your dancing shoes! There's a tea dance (dances at "tea time," which is late afternoon/early evening) at Domenico Winery on the 3rd Sunday of every month. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with three hours of live music and dancing. There is a dance class offered beforehand. Singles and couples are welcome; partners are not required. Attire is nice casual to dressy.

Joanie Brant is a popular vocalist in the Bay Area and sings the "American Song Book of Standards" for both listening and dancing. The band plays the "Big Band Sounds" for dancing including the Fox Trot, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Tango, West Coast and East Coast Swing, Night Club Two-Step, Slow Dance, and more. Joanie and the Band have been performing at the Cabana Hotel Crowne Plaza in Palo Alto for the last two years, as well as appearing at the Villa Hotel, Sofitel, Las Vegas, and Lake Tahoe.

My friends and I really enjoyed the Domenco Winery, there was 8 of us and we brought snacks to have with the very good bottles of wine that we purchased from Domenicos, They had a very good Band and an outstanding Vocalist. We enjoyed the music they played both for dancing and listening. We also met some very nice people.The Atmosphere was great and we will return and tell our friends. Collapse

My main complaint is the floor. You can dance on it, but it isn't wood. It's some kind of slippery granite. But if you only like dancing a little bit, this could be a good place. There are several... Expand

My main complaint is the floor. You can dance on it, but it isn't wood. It's some kind of slippery granite. But if you only like dancing a little bit, this could be a good place. There are several large (8 people) dinner tables, and you're encouraged to bring your own dinner for your group. Some people brought some really large, gourmet dinners! Many people also bought wine from the bar to go with their dinner. There were also 4 (male) dance hosts, who frequently asked ladies at the "singles table" to dance. The band was pretty ok. Unlike many bands, they played the correct tempo. There was a lesson before the dance, which ran-over by half an hour. Collapse
