  Finally got a chance to see the show that I have read so many positive and negative reviews on and I will say had my curiosity up. I have to agree with the audience that said it was OK. Lot's of pitch problems with a few characters (mainly Mimi who does sound raspy FYI). Enitrely way to loud and had no clue what half the words of the songs that were being sung (good thing I know the show so well so I was not left completely in the dark). Angel and Roger superior to rest of cast and in one of the reviews someone who appartently saw the show many times has some of the characters mixed up so not sure about that one. My advice is last weekend coming up save your $$$ for Smokey Joe's coming in September! Collapse

  I’ve seen RENT many times & this rendition was personal, well-acted, and told the story well. Brian Palac (Roger) captured the audience with his very first note. Beautiful man, beautiful pipes.... Expand

  I’ve seen RENT many times & this rendition was personal, well-acted, and told the story well. Brian Palac (Roger) captured the audience with his very first note. Beautiful man, beautiful pipes. Inspiring, powerful pitch-perfect delivery.?? Spencer Williams (Mark) carried his role well. Megan Woodruff (Mimi) - Talented. Gorgeous. She painted the walls of the theater with charisma and passionate vocals. Adam Berry (Angel) - firecracker in a very bright cast. OWNED the role, captured character's energy, and blasted it back to a hungry audience with amazingly athletic choreography (in HEELS) & a beautiful emotional range. Jami James (Tom Collins) low notes filled the house and squeezed my heart. Very talented Nicole Julien (Joanne) "mooed" her way to a memorable performance. Jacqui Elliot (Maureen) belted many winners, did a mean Tango. On-stage band did a very good job of providing continuity. Some music volume problems. Wonderful venue, terrific performance (just want to hug 'em all). Collapse
