    Nahat's Moments is a pure movement expression of the dazzling Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 49 by Felix Mendelssohn and showcases the individual talents of the Company members. The joyful finale suggests a Gypsy-like charactère dance of passion and tenderness.Salut D'Amour is a ballet for three couples celebrating their friendship and affection for each other. Set to the sweetly elegiac music for piano and violin of Sir Edward Elgar and reflecting the period of youth without caresin a world about to change forever. Mahler was awarded a Choreographers Fellowship in 1992 by the National Endowment for the Arts. The piece had its premier in 1987 with Ballet Mississippi. This will be its San Jose premiere. This program is rounded out by the toe-tapping, hand-clapping, finger-snapping fun; that's Square Dance, a lickety-split hoedown. Classical ballet takes an over-the-shoulder look at its folkdance roots complete with live on-stage "caller."
