This palindrome play follows two unrelated American couples, visiting five Italian cities, who are trapped in a hellish collision of fate as each travels through time in the opposite directions. Ouroboros is truly a great theatrical experiment, since the play is performed one night in sequential order to end as a comedy and is performed the next night in reverse to end as a tragedy. Advisory: This play contains themes for more mature audiences. It may contain some profanity, violence or brief nudity, but these elements should not be too intense for most audiences. That being said, some material may not be appropriate for everyone and RTE recommends this theatrical experience for audience members ages 13 years old and up.

The primary parking lot for the Historic Hoover Theatre is located on the Southeast side of campus at Park Avenue and Sandringham Way. Alternate parking may be found at the lot located on the Southwest side of campus on Naglee Avenue. Parking is free.

This play is kind of a marvel from every perspective you look at. I was very skeptical that you could watch the show one direction and it wouldn't give too much away when watching it in reverse.... Expand

This play is kind of a marvel from every perspective you look at. I was very skeptical that you could watch the show one direction and it wouldn't give too much away when watching it in reverse. (Scenes are in tact but they alternate each night doing scenes 1-5 and the 5-1). But I was proven quite wrong. This is a fascinating experiment for actors, directors, dramaturgs, and audience members alike and one that worked for me. Creative set, detailed direction, and committed acting that told the two major simultaneous stories solidly. No amount of experience in watching plays and predicting outcomes prepares you for this production. You must be patient and try as you might, you will never be completely in the know. The metaphysical, religious, quantum physic, and historical themes are rich and complex and thought provoking to say the least. Schedule in both versions if you can and the final talk back with cast and director on Thursday. Collapse

I saw the "Minister's Story" version tonight and I cannot wait to go back and see the "Nun's Story" sometime over the next couple of weeks. Great job RTE!
