  I'm glad to see so many positive reviews, but for me this production was a sore disappointment, especially after the triumphant Three Musketeers. The show itself is dated and not compelling, the production was simply dull, and the performances were poor (though the lead actor was decent). The band sounded good. I love City Lights but almost left at intermission for this one. I never felt connected to any of the characters, and the entire thing lacked any emotional weight despite subject matter that allowed for it. And maybe that's the point, feeling disconnected just like Tommy, but if so, it's a bad concept for musical theater. Unfortunately, it was the worst I've seen at City Lights. Collapse

  Good performances and vocals, handled "uncomfortable situations" in the show with sensitivity. Choreography was a tad remedial. But all and all a very enjoyable show
